Version 0.03b (January 31st 2002) changes:
- Saves the settings into the file SMDIXferGUI.cfg in the windows directory
- Wav sends via "Send to"

When SMDIXfer GUI is starting up, it should detect the sampler
automatically. Just drag and drop the samples you want to transfer to
the sampler into the application's window. Click "Get This Sample" to
receive the currently selected sample.

Alternatively, you can create a link to SMDIXferGUI.exe in your
windows\SendTo directory. Then you can select your wav files in the
windows explorer and send them via the "Send to" context menu.

Options:

Skip
If you want to send a sample to a location where there already
is a sample, the program skips to the next location until it finds a
free one.

Overwrite
The program sends the sample to the location regardless of its contents.
On some samplers this may be destructive, however on Axk-samplers it is
not.

Auto-Increase Sample Number
After sending a sample, the program automatically goes to the next
sample location.

Fix Axk bug via MIDI
The Yamaha Axk series samplers have a bug when importing samples via
SMDI that causes the loss of the last 4 sample frames and the
destruction of a few sample frames directly after the end loop point
of looped samples, except when the whole sample is looped. SMDIXfer GUI
works around this problem by looping the whole sample before sending it
and then restoring the original loop (if existing) in the sampler's
memory via MIDI SDS.
However, you have to make sure that you _always_ send a sample to the
first free sample location of your Axk, so that the displayed sample
number is the same as the one where the sample will end up after sending
it. Normally, SMDIXfer GUI takes care of this on its own....

Make sure that the MIDI out port you select for the Axk is the correct
one, because SMDIXfer GUI does not check this setting. It just spits out
the SysEx string to adjust the loop points to this MIDI port and nothing
more.

Have fun and tell me how you like the program !

Thanks go to Stephen Maughan for the splash screen, Guiseppi Mendoza for
the MIDI SDS data and Jay Vaughan and everyone else who made the great
ampfea.org mailing lists and samplelibrary possible.
